WWE Smackdown Superstar Chris Masters

Chris Masters Bio

WWE Superstar Chris Masters Never before had a WWE Superstar compared himself to the works of such genius as Michelangelo, Mozart and Hemingway – that is, until “The Masterpiece” Chris Masters came along. Carving an impressive body out of muscle, there is no denying that Masters is truly a masterpiece. Flaunting his self-proclaimed flawless physique, “The Masterpiece” has quickly made a name for himself as a top up and coming Superstar, and his impressive power has forced many top WWE Superstars to submit to his devastating Master Lock finisher along the way.

Debuting in memorable fashion in February 2005, Masters crushed the face of Steven Richards, sidelining him for months and leaving an impact that would send chills through the Raw locker room. Not only did he force Richards to submit to his devastating Master Lock, he splintered Richards’ nose and fractured the orbital bone around his eye with one punishing blow, proving the power Masters possesses is quite profound and intimidating.

Following his debut, Masters’ confidence grew to monstrous proportions. Convinced that his Master Lock is unbreakable, Masters began to challenge anyone to attempt to break the devastating hold.

In August 2005, Masters began a rivalry with Shawn Michaels after HBK took the Master Lock Challenge. While Michaels was able to defeat “The Masterpiece” at Unforgiven, Masters’ performance opened the eyes of then General Manager Eric Bischoff.

After that, Masters has became a stalwart on Raw, and was hand-picked by Eric Bischoff to be a member of Team Raw at Survivor Series. Masters even went to SmackDown and ambushed General Manager Theodore Long, slapping him in the Master Lock. Unfortunately for him, SmackDown would get the last laugh, as the team captained by Batista defeated Team RAW. Masters would later serve as the bailiff for Mr. McMahon’s trial for Eric Bischoff, but even he could not help Bischoff keep his job as RAW General Manager.

That December, Masters was one of the six men who qualified to vie for the WWE Championship inside the Elimination Chamber at New Year’s Revolution. Forming an alliance with Carlito inside the Chamber, it came down to those two and John Cena. However, as Masters had Cena in his powerful Master Lock, Carlito broke the alliance, nailing “The Masterpiece” with a low blow and pinning him to eliminate him from the match. At the Royal Rumble, Carlito & Masters reformed their alliance, but “The Masterpiece” was backstabbed again when Carlito eliminated him from the Royal Rumble Match.

WWE Smackdown Chris Masters The next night on Raw, Masters & Carlito had a chance to win the World Tag Team Championship; while they lost to Kane & Big Show, the match began a rivalry between “The Masterpiece” and the Big Red Monster. On the Feb. 6 Raw, Masters defeated Kane in a Road to WrestleMania tournament match, using the ropes to win and advance to the semifinals. After Masters lost in the semifinals to Rob Van Dam, Kane got revenge two weeks later by defeating Masters. Undaunted, “The Masterpiece” attacked Kane after the bell, locking him in the Master Lock.

After helping Mr. McMahon got Marty Jannetty to join the Kiss My Ass Club, Masters was rewarded with a great WrestleMania on the March 6 Raw. It was announced that Carlito & Chris Masters would face Big Show & Kane for the World Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania, and later that night, Masters & Carlito attacked the champions right away. For the next month, the challengers did everything they could to throw the champions off their game. It didn't work, and when the rivalry culminated at WrestleMania, Masters accidentally clobbered Carlito, allowing Big Show & Kane to defeat them and retain the World Tag Team Championship.

The next night on Raw, Carlito came out after Masters' victory on Raw, spitting apple in the face of Masters' opponent. All seemed well between the two, but when Masters turned his back, Carlito dropped him with a back cracker, then spit in his face for good measure. The following week, Carlito came out to gloat, but was interrupted by Masters. Carlito challenged Masters to an impromptu Master Lock Challenge; Carlito threw his apple before it began, however, and when Masters stopped to catch it, Carlito used that opportunity to hit him in the head with a chair. Following the confrontation, their match at Backlash was announced. On the final Raw before Backlash, Masters was able to get the Master Lock on Carlito, but Carlito's team was able to defeat The Masterpiece's team in a Six-Man Tag Team Match.

These days, Masters can be found applying the Master Lock on Friday nights, after being drafted to SmackDown in the 2007 draft.
